In Chinese culture a pair of Mandarin ducks is a traditional symbol of a happy marriage, romance, devotion, affection and enduring love. The ducks have long been considered a symbol of fidelity and pairs are often given to brides on their wedding day. The coin's reverse depicts a pair of Mandarin ducks swimming on a pond. The design includes the Chinese character for double happiness and The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark. The effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2018 year-date and the monetary denomination are depicted on the coin’s obverse.The coin is presented in an intricately designed presentation card including a pocket to hold money, representing a traditional Chinese red packet. The card also includes a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
